SB 34 Overview
SB34 requires municipalities to adopt strategies aimed at encouraging affordable housing to be eligible to receive investment funds from the Utah Department of Transportation. It offers Utah municipalities a menu of 25 strategies they can pursue to encourage affordable housing such as waiving development fees, allowing accessory dwelling units (ADUs), renovating aging homes, and adopting zoning that encourages construction of high density housing near transit lines. More information on the Moderate Income Housing Requirements can be found HERE.
